Travels with Foxfire by Phil Hudgins with co-writer Jessica Phillips was
just released in August. Its New York publisher describes it as “stories of
people, passions, and practices from Southern Appalachia – a joyful tribute to
the history, the geography, and the traditions that define Appalachia living.” It has also received great reviews from “The Wall Street Journal,” “Garden and
Gun,” “Kirkus Reviews” and “Publishers Weekly.” Travels with Foxfire has several Lumpkin County connections including a chapter on former sole commissioner J.B. Jones, Monday night music gatherings in the Auraria Community, and quotes from several Lumpkin County residents. Books will be available for sale and for signing after the meeting for $19.95 +
