Lumpkin County Historical Society Membership Information and Benefits
Become a member of this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the rich history of Lumpkin County. Membership dues help the Society create programs and exhibits, support its historic buildings and manage important collections.
The Society's trademarked logo features a gold miner's shovel, pick and gold pan representing this area's rich gold mining history and the Cherokee word for "yellow" or "gold."
The Society meets monthly for programs and/or field trips, usually on the second Thursday of each month. Programs are open to the public and announced here, in this site's home page, and in the Dahlonega Nugget. Local and out-of-town speakers are invited to present information on a variety of subjects related to Lumpkin County history. Members receive post cards and/or an email announcement of the programs.
