Lumpkin County Historical Society Membership Information and Benefits Become a member of this 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to collecting, preserving and interpreting the rich history of Lumpkin County. The Society's trademarked logo features a gold miner's shovel, pick and gold pan representing this area's rich gold mining history and the Cherokee word for "yellow" or "gold."
The Society meets monthly for programs and/or field trips, usually on the second Thursday of each month. Programs are open to the public and announced here, in this site's home page, and in the Dahlonega Nugget.
