Diving Bell Forge Marks

Very faint forge marks have been discovered on several the Diving Bell panels by Chris Worick. These marks are very difficult to see due to the corrosion on the metal plates. It takes a strong light at an oblique angle to visualize them. Below are two enhanced images of two of these forge marks. Marks appear both inside and outside the bell. They indicate that the panels were forged at the Pottstown Iron Company, Pottstown, PA.

The marks are oval in shape and about an inch in width. Below the company name it appears that CH No 1 is stamped and below that is may be that the word FLANGE. Both of these items likely indicate that type of iron used to forge the panels.
