Al Adams presents GOLD! At Pigeon Roost Thursday, June 14, 2012, 7:00 p.m.at the Community House on North Park Street

You have probably heard of the Findley Gold Mine and the famous Calhoun Mine, but have you heard of the strike they made at Pigeon Roost in Auraria?

Al Adams will tell us about how Pigeon Roost got its name, the formation of the Pigeon Roost Mining Company, and how it developed mining techniques and banking and assaying systems that were later used in the California gold rush.

Al Adams and Fred Holabird have written an exciting account of this historic event in, “Gold! At Pigeon Roost – The Story of America’s First Gold Mining Scrip.” Al will have copies of the book on hand, and be available for autographs.

Al Adams is a long-time L.C.H.Society member and owner of Gold Rush Gallery, Inc. in Dahlonega. Fred Holabird, is an Author, Mining Geologist and President of Holabird-Kagin Americana.

Come and bring a friend.
